Russia’s Transneft: Frosts delay oil pumping in West Siberia 1–3%
MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) – Oil treatment plants for pumping of crude into the trunk pipeline system of Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft in some fields of Western Siberia are 1-3% behind the plan as they are unstable due to extraordinary freezing temperatures, Igor Dyomin, aide to Transneft’s president, told reporters Monday.
“Units for preparation of oil and separation of water from it prior to pumping into Transneft’s system are not working in a stable way in some fields of Western Siberia due to the abnormal frosts. The lag from the planned amount stands at 1–3%,” he said.
The transshipment of oil in the port of Primorsk is going on in accordance with schedule on the basis of real weather in spite of regular announcements of storm warnings. Works in the port of Novorossiysk will meet the schedule during the day, but the weather there is unstable and a storm is possible on Tuesday. The weather in Kozmino, Makhachkala and Ust-Luga ports is fine, he said.
